Trahere is Beau Beaumont’s debut release on Superpang. An hour’s piece recorded during 2021’s lockdown, that would later lead to her commission with the prestigious Royal Opera House based in London, UK. Curated using differing recording techniques including contact microphones and a Geofón; Trahere is a journey through time. Presented are the secret sounds of the train's sombre structure, realised on a Liverpool to Manchester train ride whilst passing through a range of locales. Weaving intricate field recordings with low level vibrations, the record’s memories and environments wander and overlap, merging the boundaries between drone, minimalism and acoustic ecology. Entrancing experimentalism at its finest and a statement of intent from the Liverpool-based sound artist. Use of full-range speakers or headphones is advised.
The release will launch in conjunction with exhibition and sound installation, to be held at The Bridewell Gallery in Liverpool, UK on 1st-3rd April 2022. The private view will take place on 1st April 2022 at 6pm, with a live interpretation by Beau and Cellist Kepla.
